As-salaam Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu,
It was an occasion of a blissful accomplishment and spiritual fulfillment as the first Jum'ah Prayer was observed at our prestigious OAU Central Mosque of Unity, Ile-Ife, on the Friday, 2nd October, 2020.
The Solāt was graced with the stakeholders among the Muslim Community, as well as the academic and non-academic members of staff. Among them were the Chief Imam of OAU (Prof. Sanusi), Chairman OAU Muslim Community cum the DEAN, The Division of Student Affairs (Prof. Isiaq ARANSI,),
while students from within and outside the campus as well, partook in the worship.
During the sermon, the Chief Imam emphasized the need to move closer to The Creator, eschew sins and focus on the acts that will earn the Muslims His Jannah.
He said further that the Western worlds predicted that the less-developed and the under-developed countries would suffer most, the consequences of COVID-19, but reverse was the case, and this called for being sincerely and specially appreciative to The Ever Merciful Allah.
Then he expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for gathering the congregation back to the mosque for a fresh start after a gap of missed 27Juma'ah prayers.
He as well, supplicated Almighty Allah to cleanse our lands of COVID-19 and it's likes, and bring us back fully to the great Citadel of learning.
