OAU CENTRAL MOSQUE OF UNITY

This was contained in a statement released by Chief Imam OAU Central Mosque of Unity, Professor Abubakar Abefe Sanusi on friday 20th March 2020.

This is in view of the prevailing global CORONA VIRUS infection and in line with Federal Government Directives to suspend all congregations exceeding 50 people.

He enjoyed Muslims to note that neither Khutbah nor Jumu'ah prayer can be observed at home as such has no evidential basis in Islam.
Instead, four (4) raka'h of Dhuhr must be observed.

A father may lead members of his family; friends, relatives and acquaintances can equally perform Dhuhr prayer in congregation in a safe environment.

He further urged Muslims and the general public to please adhere to precautionary measures and make dua for the generality of the Ummah.
